If it feels like you are spending more time on People issues than your clients, products or services, it’s time to get in control of your People Strategy.
When budgets are tight and profit is being re-invested in growth, people tasks, like hiring, firing, and pay rises, can happen with little planning and forethought, in a reactive, pressurised way.
What if you had a people strategy that gave you more time to focus on your clients, products or services?
The first thing I ask our clients, is to share their People Strategy. Some have it in writing, some have it in their heads and others… well they haven’t really thought about it!
But I cannot underestimate the importance of having a solid plan around talent attraction, retention, succession planning and the performance as well as the culture of your business.
Let’s not overcomplicate this. It is a plan to ensure that all People considerations will meet your future vision. Having clear objectives will reduce your time on low priority tasks, minimise your risk, increase productivity, and enhance the value of your business.
Getting started can feel like a big commitment, but we’ve created a list of ten questions that will help you identify your priorities.
